Looking for a sound engineer
Hi all,
we're a Half-Life 2 modification called Off Limits, and we're looking for a sound engineer to help us develop our game. For those that don't know what 'modding' is all about, it's basically a bunch of gamers that develop a full-blown game based on an existing graphics engine as a hobby project ( read: unpaid ;) ).
Off Limits is a multiplayer modification set in a post-apocalyptic setting that's all about two opposing teams hunting a player-controlled, near-invulnerable alien. Add some nifty features like wallwalking, boobytraps and a gameplay twist and you're in for an intense hunt.
We're almost three years into development now, and are in alpha testing stage. We've grown into a project that will get released (probably this year even), and will be high quality.
We're looking for a sound engineer that can help us create new sound effects. Your main task would initially be producing sounds for our arsenal (conventional weaponry, handguns, machineguns, etc), but we also need ambient/atmospheric sounds and vehicle sounds.
As I said, this is a voluntary project, but we can offer you an interesting ride (no, not a car, it's a metaphor :D). Our team varies from amateurs to movie-industry professionals, so you'll get experience working alongside talented and motivated people. We have a nice atmosphere going on, but we try to stick to professionalism as much as possible. If you're interested in finding a job in the game industry, Off Limits will be something you can put on your resume, and be proud of.
If you're interested, or know where we could find someone fit for the job, please drop us a mail at info@off-limits.be .
If you'd like to know more about our game, check out some of our media at http://mods.moddb.com/1971/news-features/Off-Limits/ or drop by our site at http://www.off-limits.be .
I stumbled across your post and would like to offer my services, if they are needed. I'm a talented composer wanting to score video games and produce sound design. I would like to direct you to my web page where you can read my bio and resume, check out some pictures of me and also (most importantly) hear samples of my work.

nsMadsen: I listened to some of your sample songs on your site; you've got some good quality stuff there. What samples did you use for that saxophone in your "laid-back groove" piece? That sounds amazing.
