[Solved] 3dsMax: Material Qualitity in Viewports
Hey people. Im currently using 3ds max 8 and im having trouble with the materials in the viewports. Ive made a plane, made a material with a blueprint in the diffuse map, turned on show map in viewport, put the material on the plane, and changed the view mode from wireframe to smooth and highlights in all viewports. I can see the material on the plane but it is VERY pixialated, to such an extent that I cant make out the details. When I render the scene the material is perfect. The blueprint is 1000x1000px in bmp. The plane is also 1000x1000. Is their anyway to make the material look good quality in the viewports? Thanks in advance, Tj [Edited by - Ne0 on February 17, 2006 5:15:04 AM]
Yay!
I fixed it! After reading through many f.a.q's.....
The solution is to change your display driver to Open Gl, and then goto Driver config (Customize -> Preferences -> Viewports -> Configure Driver), check the two "Match Bitmap a Close as Possible" boxes and set the "background Texture Size" and "Download Texture Size" as high as you can. Restart Max.
Too eazy! :-)
Hope this help's someone....
