My first real work is done...
...Or rather, I'm done trying to tweak it to sound any better! I've been transcribing this into the copy of Garritan Personal Orchestra I got for Christmas, learning to use the interface as I went. I had posted an earlier recording of this a while back, so if it sounds kinda familiar that's why.
The genre I envisioned this for is the Medieval/Fantasy Action or RPG. It isn't designed for a specific instance in a game. If anything I'd choose to implement this in the closing credits of a game because it jumps around thematically. I wanted to see if I could create several moods and tie them together. I tried not to be too cliche, but I'm a first year composition student, and I'm not sure I've quite found my voice yet.
Criticism/thoughts are welcome. Here's the link.

Ok, I've heard both versions, Brian and GPO makes a world of difference! I think the only complaint I had about the piece before was the quality of some of the instruments.
Oh, about that... The string patches sound great, but I think they sound like they may have too slow of an attack in the beginning. That is, in the beginning of the piece there is string sections, you can feel the note where they hit but you don't hear them until a quarter note after the attack...(unless you meant to have a slight delay there on purpose)Just fiddling with the envelope should get you more on time.
And the mix is warm...but perhaps too warm in spots. At times I felt it could be crisper, namely some of the brass sections, but the overall environment is consistent (and probably suitable for a stationery orchestra setup like you have created).
I hate saying..."good job", because you know you have done a "good job". I'm trying to think of a good adjective...
wait for it...
wait for it...
Excellent work!
