Name N/a Description A game that looks and feels like Final Fantasy but with a combat system that feels like the combat system from Mario and Luigi Super Star Saga. The player creates a character using a number of options. The options for character customization are race (Human, Elf, Dwarf, and Half Elf), Gender (Do I have to explain this), Class (Archer, Mage, Soldier, Bandit, Palidan). Of course certain races do better as certain classes. The best part of this game is the fact that Half Elves can be palidans!^_^! Then the player embarks on an epic quest to free his land from the rule of a corrupt king. Controls Map arrow keys-Move In battle(during your turn) up and down arrow keys- scroll through options space bar-select (enemy turn) space bar- try toDefend Need Programmer and artists
Actually its a joke...... In D&D half elves cannot become paladins. And note the word "Idea" it's not a full design document

P.S thanks for flaming helpless noobs it is so nice and helpful of you.
You must feel great and they must feel mighty proud.

It was a little bit tacky to flame anonymously, but a flame post was an appropriate response in this case. Most of the posters on this board take game design very seriously. Even those of us with little or no programming skill (like myself) have pages and pages of concepts and dynamics and ruminations on what would make a game worthwhile, feasible, or novel. Our wastebaskets are brimming over with ideas that are at least as sophisticated and innovative as the one in this thread's original post.

And so when we see something like this presented as though it's a brick of solid gold, peppered with spelling and grammatical atrocities and those little Japanese emoticons (!^_^!), we roll our eyes and barely restrain ourselves from tearing the poster a new one. Many of us consider games to be a valid artistic, technical and/or professional pursuit, and seeing someone approach it with the rigor and method of Beavis and Butthead thinking of a way to make nachos that are boobs reminds us of how juvenile and shallow much of this medium can be.

Posting "And u cn maek teh sun change colors!!!1 Some1 plz program this now!" actually hurts us on a deep, emotional level. It turns our pride into shame. It takes a lot to refrain from flaming when presented with this kind of insult, be it intentional or accidental, and so I urge you to be tolerant of the posters that fail to control their rage. Remember, for every poster who flames the tar out of you for posting a crap idea, there are hundreds who managed not to. You should thank those hundreds.

For an idea where the best aspect is a unlikely race/class combination, your best bet is fan fiction. Write a short story, with neither paragraphs nor punctuation, about a half-elf who pulls himself up by his bootstraps and becomes the best darn paladin in town. Post it on your blog.

Yes they can. Ever since the release of D&D 3rd Edition any race can take the paladin class. One of the central plot characters in Neverwinter Nights was an elven paladin.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the Anonymous Poster. This forum is for discussion of game design, but with the barebones summary of an idea that you've given us, there's nothing to discuss. For future reference, I'd recommend reading the Forum FAQ and this thread, as well as reading some of the other threads that get posted here. That way you'll see how to set up a post to get useful feedback and discussion, rather than just getting ignored or flamed.

As for finding programmers and artists, this is the wrong forum for recruiting people to work on your project. Help Wanted is this way. However, don't even think about posting in Help Wanted without reading the forum FAQ and the various stickies, because if you make a post along the lines of this one it'll just get deleted.

Ok. Sorry. I won't do it again.
When you have the ability to create a game, I don't see why you'd even loosely base it on another person's creation =\ Not sure why people want to replicate all the current games. You'd probably want to come up with something 100% original if you want to get anywhere with it - just some advice :)
