MUD where to start?

Also, take a look at Circlemud (think 3.0 or 3.2 I forget which..)

It has a pretty good structure, as far as organizing "objects" (really structs) into meaningful things.
i learned a lot but i might use a diff. language for the text-based adventure. dont't worry i knew u weren't being mean and if u were it wouldn't matter becuz i asked a question and ppl give their honest answers. no offence was taken. :-)

Just FYI, as someone who has worked on both... Tackling the Text-Base is much much much easier than tackling the graphic-based one...seemed a no brainer to me, but never hurts to say
i've started working on a text-based adventure game and it's so unbelievably easy! i think it's actually a good type of game for beginner's to start out with but that's just my opinion...
