need opinion on 3d model/textures
im modding in my free time Operation Flashpoint game. im complete amateur in this matter, im making textures for quite some time now but i feel that lately my skills had increased below im presenting Polish soldier model its not 100% my work, few indiwiduals were helping me on it, but its not important right now all tho i was working on body textures and mapping alone. btw. dont mind animations, OFP is 4 years old game and theres only one animations set for all game characters. http://www.flashpoint.pl/om/public_download/off/render1.jpg http://www.flashpoint.pl/om/public_download/off/render11.jpg http://www.flashpoint.pl/om/public_download/off/render12.jpg
I tried to post this earlier but my internet went out.
Those are terrific, some of the best game texturing I have seen around here in a while. Tri's? Quads? how many of them? What size is the texture map?
Keep up the good work,

Terrific! My one critique would be that the shoulder area (deltoids) look almost nonexistant. You can see the deformity from all of those depicted angles. The outfit seems to just hang as though there was nothing underneath it; in the second shot, his upper arm looks like it's just a bone connected to the shoulder joint, which gradually gains muscle toward the elbow. Of course, that's the modeler's fault.

Very nice (except pointed out modelling errors). Only thing I can suggest is:
-Darken his head under the hat, from the back view you can see what I'm talking about
-Your decision, but perhaps some dirt? I always enjoy when graphics get gritty and bloody and dirty.

finaly forum is up :-)
Thanks guys for comments
this model is a little more than 4k in firs LOD and 151 in last (without a gun)
textures are preety big, but thats becouse of old textures compression in OFP, as i wrote, its rather old game, lacks of normal maps, and lightning is also not the best, so we try to increase visual by making bigger and bigger textures as our PC's also grov in strenght every year ;-)
my biggest pain are animations, there is only one animations set for all characters in this game, they arent trully skeletain based animations, thats why all OFP models have pointed out shoulder problems
additionaly, default posture of model makes it harder to fix this issue....
those animations are just fubar compared to modern games animations....
here you can look how this game looks like without community made content ;-)
