I've seen this in lots, if not all newer games that started with the PS2 and PC games also. What is it called when 2d textures on a 3D object repond to the light to make the texture look 3D? If your moving around in front of it, it shines and glares like it has depth and bumps and a rough surface, but when you look at it from the side, the texture is flat as a pancake. Does anyone know what those kinds of textures are called?
It's called "bump mapping" or "normal mapping".
