Hi Anybody experiencing frequent crashing when running OpenGL apps on Win2k? Im using Win2k prof, 128mb ram, athlon500, tnt2 ultra and VC++. Dx8 installed. ps: no wisecracks abt shifting to linux pls i like linux but i need win software n games
Nope, works fine for me, havn''t had a crash yet. Celeron541, tnt2 M-64, 64m ram.
Try getting the latest detonator drivers for win2k, it''s what I''m using and its stable as hell

no problems here either... used to have some, but that was before I got the first service pack(and when I had an old voodoo)...

P2 400
Win2k Prof
192 Meg Ram
TNT2 M64
VC++ 6.0
Directx 8.0 installed (today actually)
I can''t switch between window and fullscreen mode without crashing. (Win2k, K6-2 450, 192 Megs, Riva 128, DX7.0, Borland C++ 3)
#@$%^!&!%@%!$~$#!%%!$~!@ I had another crash and guess what! I lost a cpp file I was working on in VC++. If the OS crashes, why does it delete a file open in an application?!?!?. Nosign of the file anywhere on my computer now. Damn! Thank god for backups (But 2 days old.;( alot of recoding )

Any idea how to (if possible) recover the file?. Its scene.cpp. I searched for *scene* and came up with nothing!.

BACKUP OFTEN!

btw i have the detonator 3 drivers . These are the latest right?
and also win2k service pack 1

I had a chrash while compiling my project a few days ago. I lost my cpp file too. In found it in a tempuary file in the dir of my project. (am using Borland C++ 3)

to stop the lost of files (doesnt work everytime mind )
right click on the c drive choose properties,hardware,properties,disk properties and unclick disable write cache. u have to do this eveytime you boot the computer. maybe u can alter this is the reg.

win2000 has a bug that affects via mainboards theres a fix somewhere at the www.microsoft.com site

hi all
thankfully i found my file( at least whats left of it ) in a recovery file FILE00001.chk in a FOUND.00 directory. If this happens, this is the place to look for it guys!
You probably lost your file because it was opened by an application when your system crashed.
You should use a source management program, like SourceSafe.
