I want to pickup a used copy (full version, not education version) of 3ds max, or preferrably Maya. Anything within the last two versions of the product should be fine. I want to create some 3d art for a game that I'm working on. And I want to use some industry standard tools for the artwork. Advice and tips are also welcome. For example, if you know of a place that sells used software like this, that would be great too.

I think I'm just going to use XSI Softimage. It seems like a pretty friendly package to use, and starts around $500.
