The Blue Book is pretty useless, I guess you go better with the only version only. Blue, Red and Superbible and NeHe''s tutorials are all online available, that 10x more than you''ll ever need about OpenGL ;-)) OpenGL is so damn simple, it''s not worth more than one book. The complex things are the math and the algorithms behind OpenGL, and those are not explained in those three books... Buy a book on C++, one on Win32, one on OpenGL and two on 3D Math... That should make a kick-ass 3D coder out of you ! Good luck ;-)

Oh, and if you want a good 3d math book, I recommend Real-Time Rendering.
Yes, that would be a good choice. 3d game engine design is pretty cool, too !
