Dr. Snake - I have approx 100 tunes to listen to before I get to yours. It was 200, but another producer who owes me a favour is kindly sharing the workload!

I'm sorry for the delay, but I have to listen to each track at least 3 times, which does take up a lot of my spare time.

I promise I'll load your track up tonight, and email you tonight.

Thanks for you patience - Tab!

The website is 'under development' (as the designer calls it). While it's being built I'm still building the catalogue. I will let all composers know more as soon as things are progressing.
JD - thanks for link - downloaded the tracks & emailed you.

Chuddox - msgd you also with info.

AAAP - I can hear you're stuck with older sounds, but the groove is fine. Email ad_mc@btinternet.com as I might be able to help a bit with the sounds.

Prickly Mustard - I'm waiting on the designer of the site. The address will be (though there's nothing to see as yet!) www.makin-trax.co.uk

Dr Snake - emailed with comments, as promised.

I'm just a member \ composer like most of you are. The post was put on a few music-based sites, and the response was overwhelming.

Please bear with me - I really want this to work.

Thank you

Tab !

I didn't recieve a mail from you, or a pm with any information. it most likely got cycled through my spam filter on my hotmail account, especially if it had multiple entries in the address line. you should resend it, if you please, and I'll keep an eye out for it.
MoDial - the zip files are apparently corrupt or damaged, according to 'Winrar'. Do you have another link where I can dowload them ? Thanks !

Hm. I'm skeptical. Before submitting anything via mail I'd like to see both A: a copy of your standard contract mailed to me to see if I find your terms agreeable. and B: A little more credentials. Following your link I got only an empty parent directory and a cgi bin. At least a face page with contact information would be preferable. I also searched the business directory of Barking and Dagenham Burough and found no registration or other sign that your business exsists. As such I'm likely to have to furthur research to validate your companies legitimacy. This is meant as neither an insult or an accusation, so don't take it that way. I'm just very cautious about how I do business.

Hi Chuddox - If you email me ad_mc@btinternet.com I will email back a standard
contract.

In the meantime...

My credentials are purely personal, as the business obviously won't be trading until the website is ready! I have about 40 tunes with other music libraries. These range from theme tunes (Sub Zero BBC2), to incidental music (Club@vision & Location Channel 4 \ Fantasy Chateau TVX) to adverts (Kiss In The Sun Kiss 100 FM), to background music (most terrestrial & cable channels).

Until I have a PO box, the contact address is

Makin' Trax
7 Sheppey Rd
Dagenham
Essex
RM9 4LJ
England

You won't find my company on any list, as I haven't listed it anywhere! Especially Barking & Dagenham, as I don't agree with many of their policies.

You're entitled to be skeptical. The music business is well known for bad deals \ artists getting dropped suddenly.

All I'm trying to do is make us all some money using my experience and contacts. I believe I can make this work without the usual 50% most libraries will take from your royalties. My contract states that artists will get 70%. Other libraries want your songs forever. My contracts can be renewed yearly.

It's your choice if you want to help build the library into something that will compete with the 'big boys' by submitting your own tunes. This isn't fast money, but once the royalties come in, they can keep coming in year upon year.

Every production needs every type of music. If you write 70's music, there's going to be a retro game \ film that might want to use it! If you write ambient tracks, there'll be a 'Sky at Night' episode that might use it. Write jungle ? Keep an ear on the tv - it's amazing how many unknown dance tunes are used in the background of ads \ programmes. Mobile phone companies \ smaller console games need midi tracks. The list is very nearly limitless.

This is really just a small company starting from scratch, asking for some support from fellow musicians. In return, you get a better deal than from most other libaries. That's all I have to offer for now.

To everyone who has submitted so far : all of my time is being spent checking the tunes that have been sent in to me. I have put the thread on a couple of music sites, and some artists \ companies have sent over a hundred compositions. Most of them are from hip-hop record labels, and take ages to check for samples!

Please don't think I've forgotten to contact you - the response has been greater than I expected & I don't have a lot of time to email back.

Thanks again for your patience.
