Very true, specially for game programmers, in my case, I was born and live in a spanish speaking country, and NO game programming book has ever been translated to spanish, the programming or computer related books that do get translated have bad translations and are published sometimes even 3 years after the original book was published, thats ok for ancient history books but for computer related books thats an Aeon.

so what I did? learned english by reading the C64 Programmers Guide .

My mother language is dutch but with reading things on the web and with my english lessons at school I can read it pretty good...

Only writing and speaking is not really good because I suck at grammer :D

Just read the things in english.. There is almost no information in your own language and English is not that difficult..

Learn English the way I did : watch American movies in ENGLISH, not dubbed like most half-assed European countries do. Listen to some good music with English lyrics (Devin Townsend, Frank Zappa, whatever). And above all, read lots and lots of it right here on the Internet.

I would''ve explained all this in French but I never watched French movies or listened to French music so my French is pretty crappy
