Hey all, just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction on how I would display a sound as it is played, or otherwise access the direct wave information programmatically. Thanks!

In a particular program? Are you looking for a program, or are you trying to write one?

most preferrably, this would not be in an existing environment (ie. winamp). I want to be able to have programmatic access to the audio information so I can visualize it somehow (TBD later).

Extra brownie points if you can get it in C# ;-)

hmm, I might be on to something. Another post on this forum led me to BASS.

They have a VB.NET wrapper that you can download ... and from what I understand, it will give me the access to the data I need
