Multiple endings game be good as long as it isn't restart all over again ones, that can really annoy, but can get replay value.

I believe "no, casual gamers do not care" because that's why they are casual gamers.

I do agree , if both the endings hold equal sense of achivement/emotions , then there is no problem in alternate endings. But again , like any form of entertainment , the consumer makes conclusions based on all relevant experiences throught the game/movie/..etc.What specially is accounted for is the ending.
A person may not remember finer details such as level layouts , but definitely the plot and how the plot ends leaves an impression on the player.

There could be an "alternate ending" which could have brought the user back for more , changed his position from casual to a devout follower. Is't that what most games developers/designers would aim for ?

Unfortunately there is no way for a person to find out that a game has an alternate ending unless put out directly in the game, as in the case of warrior within ( I dont intend to make it a POP discussion , bear with me)they got it wrong. Some hints/clues must be given out , as the game progresses.

Internet is one of the worst ways to find out what you have missed on ,be it a casual or a hardcore gamer as the sense of thrill that something has been discovered by YOU , is lost.

usually I feel im missing something if I don't see all the endings to a game [sad]
It eats at me, too, but I think I'm probably a semi-hardcore player. I got all the Goldeneye cheats, and unlocked everything in Resident Evil 4, and got all my dudes to level 99 in Final Fantasy VI.

I don't, however, feel compelled to get every combination of components in a modular ending. I've never destroyed Shady Sands or the Brotherhood of Steel in Fallout, and I don't hink I ever will.

If you make a "best" ending, people will be satisfied with that.
