Trademark from outer space...well, asia actually
Hi,
a certain Korean game company owned the US trademark to a game name, but they didn't renew in time. I like the name, i want it for my game. If i try to register that name as my trademark...what do you think will happen?
Granted, they came up with the name first and it is still popular in Korea. But, according to TESS (Trademark Electronic Search System) the status is "DEAD" as far as the USA goes. Should i even bother trying to register it?
If its dead in the US then you can use it. However, if it is used in other parts of the world you may have problems if your game is sold in those countries.
