Paint Shop Pro Question.... Help Please!

Does anyone know how to select all the pixels of a given color from an image? The magic wand will select all the pixels of a certain color that are touching one another, but as soon as there is a line seperating pockets of that color from another, it won't select it. What I'm looking to do, is replace all black pixels in an image with transparent pixels, and I haven't figured out how to do that with either the magic wand or the color replace tool in Paint Shop Pro 9. I can do it by using the magic wand repeatedly, but this is rather time consuming, and I'm going to have to do this frequently. Any suggestions?
In my old dusty version there is a selection menu at the top. And a select similar function. YMMV

Thanks I was able to figure it out from that. In PSP9 it's

Selections->Modify->Select Similar->Discontiguous.

Thanks
