You're not crazy. The piano roll is by far the fastest and most accurate way to input notes, especially in terms of durations. No worrying about accidentals and other time-consuming details that are required for human performance.
Dr Mean, you should post examples of your work or things that you think aren't sounding as great as they should.
Garritan Personal Orchestra - getting a good sound
Well the reason I like sibelius is that notation helps me better visualize my music, and see what to change. Also, you can't really see the whole score in FL Studio at once, making it more difficult for people like me. Pretty much for everything else, I think FL Studio is the best.
Don't get me wrong. The piano roll is very easy to use and much more intuitive than sheet music, but I'm just used to sheet music.
Some time in the future, Image-Line might produce an external program that takes an flp file (fl studio project file) and turns it into some sort of sheet music. And you might be able to go from sheet music to flp project too. This would be helpful, but difficult to design. You can hand set velocity for each note, which is difficult to translate to sheet music. Same thing with filter cut and res... and pan. And effects.... and slides....
EDIT* Just ignore what I said up there. Two jackasses were bothering me while I was typing it, and I wasn't thinking about what I was saying. Hehe anyway I should go to them about it really, instead of ranting about it here.
I guess I'll try to post some of my work.
