You can also do many other in between items. Including WorkHired 2 Royalties type stuff, "if the product sells good, like say (this many), I give you this much, but if it doesn't here's this hunnet fitty bucks for ya services."

yea it's like that in one of RKelly's studios.
I worked with one of the founders of Secret Weapon. Kicked it with his lil bro, Sean Reed. Some characters there.

Waiting for a reply from, uh, poster up top here. I'm sorry I don;t remember the topic starter's name.
I can't believe how many replys this guy is getting based on the ZERO info he's posted. Plus hes yet to reply to this thread.

Each to their own I guess.

Not to talk down on any of the composers here or anything of the such. From my experience once your project is arriving to a finished state you can get very good quality music for free by posting on the gamedev.net forums Help Wanted section. Don't expect anyone to do it for free if your project is no where near complete.

I posted an advertisement for the project I am working on for Dawn of Daria as Community Manager & World Designer and this ad was looking for sound design (ambient and monster etc..). I had over 7 applicants for composers that were willing to work for free and 3 of the applicants had some of the best quality music I've heard.

That said. I am sure those that would like to charge money for their work deserves it all the same and I am sure their work is top notch. Being a growing composer myself at one point I am sure I will want to make some money off this but don't be afraid to explore your free options first at your games finished state.

Best of luck with your project.

So no one ever responded here?

Where are you at guy?

To everyone else: I'm just so excited to be learning making games, I'm wiling to help other peoples projects too.

Thanks!
To my fellow composers -

Let's not sell ourselves short here. Collectively, we need to ask for more money for our services at this level, provided we are making quality music. Keep in mind that $1000 per minute is the average price PER MINUTE of music in this industry, with $75-$100 per sound effect. Obviously, indie developers aren't going to want to pay that much, but please, $25 is a bit low..
