Just a very simple, quick question. What advanced math courses would be suggested to learn/know previous to taking courses on Maya or 3D Studio Max?
those programs don't require any understanding of math. Some of the best modelers at my company are very very sad in math.

All you *should* really need to know is Geometry, so you know what shapes do what. You won't be using any Calculus in it (unless you are going for uber-realism in the representation of objects to scale [lol]). I mean I can do very simple primitive stuff with them, and I am just a programmer and my math is not all that great. It's more in terms of how well you know how to use the software really, it does a lot for you to begin with, you just have to know how to use it.
art is a lot more relevant then maths....(though not a necessity)

after that a basic understanding of computers is all you need
Thanks for the info and responses all
