I'm trying to install RedHat 9, everything seems ok at first, but when installing the selected packages the following happens -> Attempting to start native X server Waiting for X server to start...log located in /tmp/X.log 1...2...3...4...5.... X server started successfully. Install exited abnormally When I first reboot after the error I think it stood something about (error?) signal 11. I have tried to install with different settings (lowres, text, etc) also tried to install with minimum packages, but still no luck, would be nice if some1 knows how to solve this problem (if possible). Perhaps I should mention that when I tried to reinstall ReadHat 7.2 that also failed - went ok a couple of days ago :( Could this have something to do with faulty RAM? I noticed the thread a bit down where you say you are going to "install the latest version of readhat". Well, RedHat 9 isn't it. What you are looking for is probably Fedora Core 3.

Fedora Core 3?
Yes, after version 9, Red Hat stopped naming their consumer distribution "Red Hat". They now have Red Hat Enterprise linux (for company servers) and Fedora Core, which is pretty much the old Red Hat distribution. Fedore Core 3 would be something like Red Hat 12 :-)
Ok, thanx alot. I managed to install it though, the problem was app. corrupted RAM.
