tank simulator problem #1

Well, the situation is like that: 1) I have a 3d tank going around a 3d map, consisted of 3d triangles. 2) The tank is smaller than a 3d triangle . 3) I know math very good so feel free to talk in math language. The problem is like that: consider that my tank is just a cube (for start until i''ll make a real tank model) - how can i find on which triangle in the map is the tank layed on ? I really need help on this problem so I can move on to the nice part of physics and AI (Artificial Ignorance in my case).
If you can:

1.) Find the position & figure dimensions of any given triangle.
2.) Calculate the movement vector of tank.

then:

Simple choose a triangle for the tank at the game''s start.
Then track the tanks motion across the triangles...

Just a idea...

You really need to tell us how you are storing the triangles before that question can be adequately answered.
