I know someone who has Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 and I want to get the software for myself to replace my 4-track tape recorder. Apparently Cakewalk has discontinued the Pro Audio Series. Is Home Studio my best bet, as far as similarity goes? Can anyone comment on Guitar Tracks Pro? Is it worth the extra dough?

Last I heard, Cakewalk Pro 9 went on to be called SONAR. I may be wrong, though.

Sonar is mentioned on their web page but its two versions cost $500 and $1000 respectivly. I didn't think my friend's software was in that price bracket but I could be wrong (It's pretty buggy and doesn't have many features). I guess the original software must have branched into many versions and that's why the original name is no longer used.
