Attacks, Bitching, etc.
As long as you code with respect to newbies and advanced people alike, you should have no problem. I think Nehe should personally start taking some of the theories out there on 3d mathematics and make tutorials about cool demo effects and stuff you can do in GL. Advanced tutorials are where we all want to go. I really did like the contributions in the Nehe CD (especially the MD2 loading code although I''m crappy when it comes to 3d modelling I don''t even know how to save an md2 with all the necessary animations and such.
NeHe, your site is one of the most respected opengl sites out there. When I began learning OpenGL, I asked where I should go for infomation and tutorials. Your site appeared time after time. Every site I went to that was opengl related had a link to your site. You are respected among the programming community it seems.
As for me, I have found your site a fantastic source of knowledge. I''m still a newbie, but I have learnt alot from your tutorials, and I thankyou for spending the time and effort to put them on the web for everyone to see. Your code is easily understandable, simply beacuse of all the comments that you put into it, it makes learning and understanding alot easier.
To everyone complaining, go and make your own site and see if you can do any better. Spend as much time and put as much effort into it as NeHe has.

Don''t mind those negative people, just do what you want to do, those negetivd people are just IGNORANT!!
Forget about that buggy code, let's start all-over - from scratch. Let's go!
Well, though I''m not trying to flame you or anything, taking the tutorials down is hurting more people that did nothing to you, than punishing those that did.
Oh well, I guess I go back to the BC5 OpenGL reference now, since I am quite new to OpenGL...

First: Through collage I''ve come across a LOT of opengl sites. NeHe''s is one of the best out there and defiantly the best for learning to code OpenGL.
Second: If NeHe wants to take a break from the site thats his business, not mine, not yours, not anyone elses. And don''t start complaining because it''s not being updated anymore, the amount of work thats gone into it is incredible, anyone can see that by browsing around it for two minutes. Just enjoy whats here - you won''t find a better tutorial site anywhere else.

This is really uncalled for, but I think I should post it anyhow.
A Brief Description Of Flamers: "Hello! I am A Flamer! I am a big fuckhead! when I was in the womb both my daddys beat my mommy with wine bottle and something funny happened to my head and now I am all screwed up. My dick is so small that its inverted and it comes out my ass. But thats ok cuz i really like having a dick in my ass! well, gotta go. mommy says it''s special time now! special time is when i get to stick my face where she smells funny until i pass out! byebye all!"
ahhh...now I feel better.
NeHe, your site is incredible. It is because of you that 2 of my friends got jobs in the Game industry. (Bioware) and soon, I hope to get a similar job as well. I totally commend you for your excellent service to us, and for providing it for free. Please keep up the great work, and whenever someone flames you, just pity them for having "special time"
keep up the excellent work.

Sorry about the dead links... I had pulled the site... after seeing that you guys at the very least wanted it left online with no updates, I started uploading everything again. But at 28.8k, and a site over over 100 megs, it''s taking awhile. The tutorials and such should now be online. The rest is coming.
In regards to the flamers. The people flaming in the forum don''t bother me, although it amazes me that these people have absolutely no respect for anyone. The thing bothering me the most right now is that people I respect in the GL community, and always have are unhappy with the site. I''m not sure why they would decide to speak out now, and not a year or two ago, but they have. So as always, I am trying to work with them to make the site even better.
I would also like all the anon flamers to know that their IP''s are logged. How do you think the gamedev staff knew that someone was using Francis''s computer to post negative messages towards me. Hopefully down the road we can come up with a better way to run the forum. If need be, I will switch the entire site to members only. Requiring the members to have a password. If someone else abuses the system using their password, the person owning the account will lose their account.
We don''t need crap like that in here. I would prefer that these anon flamers contribute to the forum and to the site in general. If they code better than the rest of us, why not show off what they''ve made and earn our respect rather than flame me and others and lose everyones respect?

I thank you for posting the tutorials back online . As always, know that a lot more people like what you''re doing with your site, than dislike it.
Hey NeHe,
First, I would like to say that your site is one of the best OpenGL sites arround, if not the best. I want to thank you for the time and effort that you have put into this site to help beginers learn OpenGL. I use your site everyday and it would be a big loss to the OGL community if you left. Though I would not blame you if you took it down. I hope that you can ignore the comments of the idiots that flame you, and listen to the many that support you. Maybe a member site would help. You could even charge a monthly fee to give you some payback for the work that you do. I would definitly pay for using this site!! I would say more, but I feel that I would be repeating what may on this board have already been saying. Your site is great, and it''s unfortunite that people are triing to put you down for doing something nice.
Thanks

P.S, hope your brother and the rest of your family will make it through these tough times. Thanks again
