Would you buy me...er...it
OK...check it...Im desigining the pimp daddy of all FPS's....dont ask IM not telling, but yes it will have a unique feature that has yet to be done in such a game. And no im not telling. However, this game would be expensive due to hardware, which is not needed to play, but its the only way the unique feature can be taken advantage of...would you buy a game...humor me...just assume the hardware is worth it...would you buy a game for $100-150. I realize this is rough not knowing what makes it worth it...but i refuse to share my brain child until its underway...*evil grin* yes pinky, were going to do the same thing we do every night...

Uh-uh, 'Brain'..r u serious?..surely no-one's gonna spend that amount of money on a game - no-one!
With vagueness like that, I'm obligated to say that no, I would not buy such a game. I highly doubt any huge and obscenely experienced/funded development team would be able to get me to pay $100+ for a game. Unless this hardware that came with it could be (and would be) used for other games that I'd definitely want too. In which case, it's merely a $50-$100 dollar hardware purchase, and $50 dollar game. But from what I gather from the gist of your post, this hardware is likely to never be used for anything but your game. If this is the case, then no, you'd never get my purchase.

childish OP aside...
Steel Battalion was available in retail for about that amount since it ships with its own (huge) controller. And it did pretty well on the market, especially considering that it´s going for much more than the original price on ebay.

the hardwar is in fact used for other games and may be used for even more soon...just not in the style I am proposing...i know of many unique ideas using the hardware which will, im sure, be brought to life eventualy....the game id sell for 20...hardware i think is like 120...so 140...i feel it is alot..and is the only thing holding me back from pursuing the idea further

Any chance we can get you to at least tell us what the hardware is?

well...then I wouldnt get to be all top secretive....then wheres the fun, Pinky. I will most likely make the game for sake of doing something undone...and i will enter it in IGF after its done...whether or not i sell...will depend on the rest....*shrug*....thanks for the opinions though

So your question is, if there was something that was worth $100-$150 to us, would it be worth $100-$150 to us? Hm.

er...no...would you buy an FPS for 140...if you had to use specific hardware, which is used in other games but not much...the game can be played without it but that scraps the unique feature regardless of how innovative the rest of the game is...the game could in fact be sold without it...

Think about it like this.
Xbox, Gamecube, PS2, (insert latest console here) ... etc. = £~100 ~= $100 - $150
Add one game. £30 - £40 ~= $50 - $65
So there is your *specific hardware* and your game.
Although, (for example) if there is only one game available to play on a console, its not going to be too popular ;-)
(your first positive feedback, in a way) :p
