CDX (general discussion on it)
Have any of you ever used CDX? I don't mean to sound like I'm spamming, but CDX is a great/fairly-easy DirectX wrapper and I don't think it's getting as much publicity as it should. You guys can check it out at www.cdxlib.com if you haven't heard of it. It's a lot like DirectDraw, code-wise, and that's because it uses DirectDraw. It basically just simplifies it from the coder's angle. The library also contains some useful classes specifically for games, such as CDXSprite (personally I like to write my own sprite classes though). So does anyone use it? It seems hard to find another CDX programmer. I'm not looking for help with my project or anything, I'm just curious. :) The GameDev.net dictionary entry for it has an outdated link: http://www.gamedev.net/dict/term.asp?TermID=435 The url on the page leads to what is no longer the CDX library page (if it ever even was). Anyway my latest game, Stealth Prankster 2, is being written in CDX. It's coming along nicely.. a little information can be found on my website: http://www.LunarZone.net .
