I would like to know how to convert .max to 3ds.

Ive tried long and hard to do this, and you cant in fact, unless you got the 3d Studio Max program.

This is due to the fact the .MAX files contains references for plugins and other tools that the program has. So unless you got the program you aint gonna get the file converted.
