Also...claiming a revolutionary game that hasn't even gone trough complete design phase is probably not a good idea =)

If there are lots of zombies then the scare factor decreases
not if you're overpowered and running from them (Silent Hill 3.. did that in some bits and was terrifying)

a flat tire or running out of fuel in a Bad Place (tm)

Basically there seem to be two gameplay styles here, when you are travelling around (roaming) the city, and when you are inside a building. The question then is whether these two styles work well together. I think they could. Roaming could be seen as safe situation, but then entering a building the scary part.
i enjoy that in most of horror movies cars never work right. this should apply. Changing transport frequently and being at risk every time you stop moving would add to the tension. Drive trough that tunnel? what if your car breaks down? what if it's blocked?

So basically while you can free roam, the story needs to be fairly linear. I think it needs to center around locations, like this time we need to go to the town library to find out such and such - now we need to go to the such and such.
yes!
on a sidenote, i didn't give Evil Dead for PSX a second look because i thought it would suck. The owner left the CD here so i guess i'll check it out anyway.
