This may be true. However, I would perfer people avoid combat not because it's laborious, but because it's dangerous and potentially lethal. It would not be a trivial click of the mouse but an involved (but not a half-hour) fight where taking a hit or two could cost their life.
Also, the consequences of murdering someone could potentially be just as devistating as the combat itself (but that's another topic completely )
