"Monster Rancher"-esque gameplay
I was cleaning my room today when I found an old Tips & Tricks code book. I looked through it randomly and came across codes for Monster Rancher 1 and 2. I looked up the other two Monster Rancher games, too, and found something I thought was interesting. In the game, you can load CD's (such as other games, DVD's, and music CD's) and hidden/special monsters will come from them. Here's the lists and such: Monster RancherMonster Rancher 2Monster Rancher 3Monster Rancher 4 I thought this was an awesome idea, so I decided to come up with something similar with a list of CD's, DVD's, and games that I like (and some I didn't). ^_^ Check it out. Not all of them have something their results yet because it's kinda hard to come up with 'em. I think maybe you should find a better way to "generate a monster". I remember this game, and just about every (read: every) cd that you put in spawned a monster.
But otherwise, I'm glad you're trying something like this.

Things change.
I know that any CD you put in would spawn a creature, but I liked the fact that specific CD's could produce special monsters. That's more or what I'm going for.
Actually, the way I think it work was they scan the cd, or hash a key from it by whatever way they wanted, and from that generated a monster. Since the specific CD should always load the same key, you'll get the same monster. So the same CD in 2 different example, could load different monster (did happen a lot with monster rancher if you look at cd list on the net)
