1Gig USB key it is; I should be able to secure the prize by tommorrow (I'll try to post a pic online). With any luck I should also have the winamp basecode done and after a bit of testing we can start the contest.

I may or may not have time to enter this contest, hope I will.
On a side note, it seems NeHe's mainpage post doesn't seem follow along at all. He either didn't like or didn't see the ideas on the old contest thread for ideas or even seem to acknolage matrix's effort on this mini contest.

Not to worry, he was just ill informed. I think he was talking about the 3 month contest and not this mini. Everybody could mass email him about the mini? Put "I didn't get my CD" in the subject, maybe ;)

Update:
Well...the winamp sdk definitely isnt making things easy...Should have the thing ready for testing by the end of the night though (fingers crossed). I should also have the prize by some time this week.
I'll try to get NeHe to announce the contest once the final cut of the winamp basecode is online.

If you can produce a binary by tomorrow, I can run it in the test lab and check compatibility with NT 3.0/4.0/95/98/2000/XP/ME/2003.

Ahh shucks man, too late. No problem. The winamp dll should work anywhere winamp goes, right?

Nuts...just finished...binaries comming online soon (packaging them with source right now). I dont think working accross different platform is a big issue in it's present state (the basecode uses Win32). A bigger issue is patching up some of the bugs that I havent resolved. They are for the most part cosmetic however. If a fix comes in for them, then patching your basecode shouldnt be a big deal (fingers crossed).

Time to get this thing started (after some debugging of course) :)

Excellent, just downloaded the base code and it compiled and ran great in VC.net 2003 [smile] Thanks a lot for coding it up.
Now its time to get coding and try out some effects.
There is one "bug" that I found that might need looking into: sometimes winamp will crash (message box says "R6025 - pure virtual function call") if you attempt to start the gl vis plugin while its already running. I'll try have a look into this but can only do it when I'm home from work.
Do we have an approximate due date yet? 31st Dec is under 3 weeks away already...
@ llvllatrix
What are the "rules" for using your basecode? I assume we need to keep your dialog screen bitmap in etc. etc. and credit you, but are there any other special requirements (I see you released it under the GNU)?
