I think it means the determinant of the matrix v. I dunno he would know best, lol!

I can see the fnords.
llvll is a recursively defined operator:
Given a matrix v, the scalar magnitude of the determinant of v is defined in the case where the matrix v is the magnitude determinant of a matrix v, where successive matrices v are defined in this manner.

lol, jk, its an allusion to Reboot ;)

Hey guys,

A bit of an update. The winamp basecode is almost complete. When it is done you should be able to add visualizations with little effort. Unfortunately, I haven't heard back from Jeff about the contest (sent a few emails). I'm guessing he still has email problems...anyone know for sure?

At any rate, I think we should still go ahead with the winamp christmas/new year mini contest. I propose the 31st as the deadline, which gives us 4 weeks. I was also thinking of fronting the prize. My prospects are a 1 gig usb key, a 120 gig hard drive, or halflife 2. Which would you guys prefer?

My only real concern is the deadline. Since it is christmas, I'm sure most of you would rather spend a bit of time with your families...do you guys think the 31st is reasonable?

Yup.
Nehe hasn't posted in half a month, so I suspect, as usual, he has some stuff going on. Never-the-less, a December 31st deadline sounds great.

Nehe needs more admins for his site, he clearly doesn't have the time to do it all himself. If we have 3/4 people scouring the internet for OGL tuts, converting them, posting news, etc I think the Nehe site would be much more popular then it already is.

I was under the impression that the Christmas demo wasn't going to be for a prize but, as I already have a 120GB HD and HL2, the usb key sounds like a good one [grin]

BTW: thanks for the organising llvllatrix. With NeHe obviously swamped with work/personal stuff its nice to see the community taking some initiative and doing something.

It would be cool if we did a series on oglsl and a few other libraries like openal, openil (image library), and openml (media library).
Nehe mentioned games for kids. That falls under Edutainment. That's a great idea for the upcoming contest. Edutainment brought those great education games like "Number Crunchers" back in the old days on the Apple IIe.
