Halo 2: game designer's perspective

I'm writing this post to try and understand Halo 2 from a game design perspective. When I see the reviews for this game, I truly feel like I'm going insane. I have played this game quite thoroughly, and to me, it seems like Bungie totally sold out when they set about creating the sequel to Halo. I think Halo deserves all the recognition it gets, because it had some truly innovative features never seen on a console FPS. Can someone please tell me why Halo 2 is receiving even more praise, when it has really done nothing innovative at all? When I see the numbers that Halo 2 is doing, and the dozens of 100% reviews it's scoring, I feel like throwing up. Am I missing something? If given the opportunity, would you make the same design choices that Bungie made? Personally, I feel like they had a chance to go even further and innovate even more, but chose the safer route.
Why do people read reviews? Why do they pay attention to the scores affixed to these reviews, which are utterly subjective? Why do they then complain when they disagree with these subjective valuations?

I think you catch my drift.

Basically, you're whining. You didn't like Halo 2, but you fail to indicate a single thing that you specifically didn't like about it, essentially asking people to "randomly bitch" about the "design" (now there's an ambiguous term!) of the game.
