Greetings. I want to write a racing game. What engine is best for this sort of game? I've looked into Irrlicht...I'm too poor to get Torque.

I don't have .NET. At least, I don't have VS.NET. Can I do it without Visual Studio.NET?

Many gurus here do suggest some free 3d engine like ogre and etc. I think just choose one that is convenient and familiar to yourself. what kind of language do you prefer instead of .NET ?
