I am looking to get a nice mid-range ($150-200) Midi controller keyobard for my Fruity Loops stuido work. I was wondering what kind I should get. I was looking at the M-audio controllers and they seemed pretty nice but I cant find for sure whether it works with Fruity Loops. Any suggestions?

Don't go M-Audio. I suggest the Edirol PCR-30, which is about 38 keys, has 8 knobs, 8 sliders, and lots of buttons. Good action, too, and it's very easy to use. Can be powered through USB and transmit MIDI through USB. Only about $160.

Is there any particular reason you would suggest this brand over the other?

I dont like the M-Audio Oxygen, the keys feel all wrong. I have an Evolution MK-249C at home which is much better in my opinion, about £100 nowadays 49 key 10 rotary contoller pitch+mod wheels
Because people I know with M-Audios were not happy with the quality of them, particularly the keys, but everyone I know with an Edirol controller (including myself) does not regret getting one.
