My Project: ----------- I'm currently working on a school project and i'm focusing on AI. i found Navmeshes rather interesting and decided i wanted to learn more about them by implementing one myself. However, our "semi-game" we're creating is located in large outdoors environments, generated by a nifty, paging landscape-generator we got our hands on. Navmeshes Outdoors? ------------------ I'm thinking that Navmeshes aren't normally used for large hi-poly our-doors areas since nodes can get pretty big on relatively flat areas. I've only seen games with indoors environment like Quake 3 use navmeshes, but i'm gonna try this anyways. Some game background : ----------------------- Our game is an RPG-game where you have intelligent enemies that probably will be communicating via a blackboard system. (And hopefully using this navmesh in an intelligent way.) You will play a character in a 3rd person view, and you will have 2 companions with you that will assist you in fighting enemies. Feedback Please ---------------- I'm looking for some feedback. Is using a Navmesh in this way a REALLY bad idea or what? Do any of you guys have other suggestions?
Debugging in progress...
