I love linux, but it's not suitable for Desktop.
True. I felt the same. But then again, that was about 8 years ago [wink].
Today? It's ready for the desktop. It's software and hardware manufacturers that need to catch up, not the OS itself.

It's a server or even a workstation base. It's kernel can be used to tailor someone's need. It can be used for net hacking freaks.
Again. Absolutely true. I can browse the web while listening to my favourite audio CD and watching the weather forecast on my TV card, too. A friend of mine uses it as OS for his digital TV receiver.
If I want to, I can create some spread sheets with Open Office, too. Not very hackerish, I guess.

But will never catch up with MS technology.
care to be a little more specific? I still need to see how I can just replace my sound and gfx drivers without rebooting under Windows. Remote administration without expensive software or server versions? Mh. I see. Much to catch up for Linux.

What's about COM and ActiveX?
You tell me. COM is not MS per se and I never saw the benefit of (Radio)ActiveX.

By the way, font rendering is horrible.
Ever tried 100dpi fonts with anti-aliasing?

Your turn.
I like Windows, sometimes. I like Linux, most of the time. I don't like trolls, all the time.
