Hi friends, Hope I've posted this in the right forum. My problem is that I have some code I have written which allows a user to get a file from a server, call servlets etc. If the user has to go via a proxy they put in their username, password and proxy server address, now this works fine in a standard executable, but, when I put this into my active control which sits in a webbrowser, the authentication fails all the time ? I don't know what is going on here at all. Anybody any ideas ? BTW - I use Wininet. Kind regards, Steve

The error is Proxy authentication required, even though I pass this across.

Try converting the login and password to base64.
