RISK CLONE: Parker Bros. Game
Hello, trapdoor.
Sorry for my delay.
Nationality advantages are indeed an interesting concept. I didn't think of that one.
One of the key reasons for designing this game is to study warfare principles and also lovefare principles of allies.
Therefore I intend to keep technologies and Nationality advantages even so that this would accentuate the lessons of strategy.
But yes your idea would definitely put more fun and challenge to the game.
Sincerely the fun loving Triopstor.
Peace.

Hello Anonymous Poster,
>Are you talking about writing AI for your game? If so, don't >start with the game Diplomacy - that is a seriously difficult >game. However, there are lots of variants on the standard >game, some of which might be decent for learning on. Look up >the 'Hundred' variant - it has only three players (instead of >7), so there are vastly less options to consider.
Yes definitely I have written some concepts for an AI.
Yes I don't wish too start too deep but I'm not sure how deep Diplomacy is. Mostly for the time being just the original RISK game itself with the main strategy of no dice & cards of humanly random fortune.
I'm not sure of what is meant by `Hundred' variant. Or where that is located - a rule in Diplomacy? But I think thats what you meant.
Bye. Triopstor.

The thing that makes Diplomacy so difficult is that everyone submits orders at the same time, so when you're planning your orders, you need to take into account a lot of possibilities in terms of other people's orders.
Hundred is a game that uses the basic rules of Diplomacy, but on a different map, with less players. With less players, there are less pieces you need to predict the motions of. This dramatically reduces the 'search space' of possibile outcomes of each move.
