Dreaming about games
Just woke up from a nap where I dreamed about a bunch of video game fragments, so I thought I'd start a thread about nonexistent games you dream about. Maybe people will get some ideas from it. I can only assume my dreams were prompted by hanging out on this site a lot lately, either that or the fact we just got Tak 2 today. The first game fragment was either 3D or some sort of top-down view that looked 3Dish. It was a sequel to some game I'd apparently liked. It was similar to Animal Crossing in that you could get 15 NPC's at any given time in some playing area or other, but there were many possible NPC's you could get, and some would leave and others would join from time to time. I'm pretty sure the whole point of the game wasn't dealing with these NPC's. Anyway, there were various alien looking ones, and at least 2 robots. One robot looked like this blocky reddish thing, but instead of saying something interesting to me it just asked if I wanted to save my game. This was supposedly because my mom had been playing the game too, and introduced our character to it. She was telling me that some of our NPC's had left, but the 2 "guys that turn green" were still there. And the place I was talking to this NPC in was called the "Forest Guardian" area. It was basically square, possibly a narrowish pathway around a somehow inaccessable central area. The next game was 2D, your typical platformer with weird stuff. I was about to fight a mini boss, and the room was sort of high-tech looking, with pipes and stuff all over the walls. The floor only extended about 2/3 the length of the room. The mini-boss was actually a group of 3 glowing spheres that would travel through the pipes in the wall and then pop out of openings to shoot at you and stuff. The next game may have been another part of the previous game, but it was in 3D first person view. There were greenish pipes all over several rooms, on different levels. It was sort of like Metroid Prime, except to go through these pipes you had to become a snakelike thing and hope you had enough momentum to get past twists and turns. Yep, I'm a geek. This is what I dream about. My old LJ even has a detailed description of an old *gasp* Breakout type game I dreamed about. :P
If a squirrel is chasing you, drop your nuts and run.
I usually have dreams about sex. I'm not sure if it's the same, but the replay value is incredible

Well, I suppose it's the best way to have casual sex without your partner yelling at you the morning after, or dropping a baby on your doorstep. :P

I had a dream once that me and a friend were wandering around in the city centre, until we saw a fire hydrant that was realtime environment mapped. Then we spent ages walking around it looking at our reflections and going 'this is awesome, we have to put this in one of our games'.
* Note: This was back in '99-'00, when realtime environment mapping was something you only saw in scene demos, and not possible in your standard game engine.

once i had a dream that i woke up and my house was on fire, and i had to go rescue my daughter. so, i left my room to go to her room at the other end of the hallway, and the floor had collapsed and there was a large flaming pit in the way. i ran as fast as i could and jumped... and fell into the pit.
suddenly, i was standing back in my room in the same situation, only i "knew" that i had lost one life. having only one life left, i googled for a walkthrough (i don't remember what the search terms were) and discovered that i had to kick off the wall and grab a pipe that was sticking out. so i did so and rescued her and we esscaped unburned and i woke up.
what was really weird was that i kinda realized it was a video game (obviously, as i was looking for a walkthrough), but at the same time it was real and urgent and life threatening.
i don't want to play that game though :)
