I like the second one better.
It's just easier on the eyes than the first one.
A fantasy RPG should be about a break from reality, that is what makes it fantasy after all, so taking liberty with the female form should enhance the games experience.
Human Female Models...
I'm getting really confused on just who's running the show on this one...
If Nechre's post shows the style of other characters, I'd choose the second set.

Things change.

Thanks for not showing the male model naked....
Although its probably more work, why not use Both models?
Personaly, I would rather not have the same model for 20 different characters.
If there is only going to be one female throughout the entire game [seems unlikely for an RPG], then either one would probably be fine... as long as the game is fun :)

I'd go with the first model. There is a prevelance of sexism in games, especially in graphics (not the fault of artists, I know). I know that, as a guy myself, a little bit of stylization is common and expected, but when my sister comes in and comments on the 'big boobed bimbos with no waists' it snaps me back to reality and I feel real guilty with the rest of the game.
What I'm saying is: whichever model you use probably won't affect how many guys play your game, but it is very possible it will affect how many woman play it. If you don't care, choose the second one, but please, for all the girls like my sister, (and guys like me who have to listen to em) choose the first model.
And on a side note, I find the first more attractive. There's a real inner instinct in men to find woman who can bear children. Having a kid would snap that second model in two, where the first one looks capable of having a dozen or more. But that's just me, I'm wierd that way. I grew up in a socially progressive family.

You know, alot of models tend to be really thin. It would be interesting to use your second model and add some weight to her. Not lots of fat per say, but a little more fat and muscle, and maybe play with the height. Playing with the frame size could a good prospect too. Not all women have the same bone structure. I think you can thicken the bone structure and still maintain an sex appeal (if that is what you are going for...).
Also, if you decide to tweek the models any I recommend you talk to some women. Some how get into a conversation about how clothes fit, you'll probabaly get some valuable infomation about how they are shaped differently and where (just make sure you're not talking to super models).
Some of Leonardo Da Vinci's or Michel Anglelo's drawings of the female figures would be good for reference also. Not all of the women they drew were fat or puggy like it was popular at the time. There is a painting one of them did where this chick was holding a huge plate with fruit or something on it. You should have seen the muscles in her back! She was warrior strong :D
Personally I like the second model. :) Ultimately its your decision.
