Why don't you just write a kernel module for linux that does some of these things - pattern recognition, maybe even organising your files for you depending on usage patterns, fixing problems automatically based on errors logged, etc ...

Just from reading these few posts it seems to me that you are lacking any understanding of the problem you are posing. Which is fair enough, it's easy to get excited and say "Ahh, I want to make an intelligent OS with, umm, self-organising code, and umm neural networks, etc...".

but only with NLP the system wont be complete, if it should think then ANN's is the ony way.. Yeah a simulation of ANN's is very difficult.. But i think for some basic tasks, we can train the ANN's like pattern recognition, remembering whole events even if presented with only partial datas.

ANN's are not the only way. Use the force luke.

look at my post (in this forum) about making a concious entity.

From,
Nice coder.

yeah nice coder i have posted a reply on your topic.. the idea is good and the main factor "drive" if implemented then nothing better than it..
Have you ever written an Operating System? Let me tell you its a pain in the ass (Sorry) starting out from scratch. And your concepts of AI and such really wont go far unless you look at linux cuz' theres a few developers like you who feel that an OS needs AI but for all their efforts... Their results yield nothing useful... Plus i dont think this would change anything it may just be a 'fad' for a little while
It's true. Writing an operating system is no small task. Have you taken courses in school yet that talk about AI or OS's? Some of that shit will give your brain the run around.
You know, it really is aggravating that nearly all of the most retarded posts on this board get 30-40-50 replies sometimes, while dozens of legitimate questions from people doing real problems are lucky to get a few.

...that sounds like an idea.

saintdark, it would probably be a better idea if you wrapped Nex around an existing OS such as Windows and Linux. That would eliminate a ton of problems and allow your average user to use it without having to have your OS. You could make it a statistics and pattern-recognizing based AI, making life easier for the user. There are loads of applications for this, if you can do it.

But if you end up writing your own OS, good luck writing all the software to go with it to actually make it functional (internet browser, email client, word processing, database, ftp, etc)

I bet 10 dollars this is a joke.

Seee guys maybe im not clear..
I dont wanna make an OS to run other programs. it will be specialising in certain areas of knowledge where it could provide all information and at the same time learn new information.. thats why im planning to develop an OS so that each and every code is optimised for AI related functions..
I dont want to make an OS just to run intelligent spreadsheets..
Microsoft does that very much..
Regards

AND u dont bet a 10 dollar,, coz this is not a joke.
I can understand coz u really dont have anything else to say, or " doesnt-know-what-to-say" <<-- not a joke "10$ bet"
heh, this is your first post on these forums.

your thread is called "Invitation for the Greatest Project "

your location says "Void Thoughts"

You write like "yodathecoda".

And you want to build up Skynet and organize the entire project from a 3 pages long website in geocities.

I think I can win this one. I rise $20.
