Interesting piece... a couple of comments (only my opinion..lol)

Your introduction shouldn't repeat, I'm asleep by the time the melody comes in. Your B section (at roughly 1:00) seems incomplete, you start a different chord and are obviously doing something different, but then it fades out and the chorus starts.

You might be able to get away with this if you don't introduce a new instrument in the chorus, but right now as it is, it sounds like this new part is just coming out of nowhere, and would be much more powerful (swelling) if you used some voice leading to get to it.

The real issue that I get struck by with this piece is it sounds like you have a lot of really great ideas, and instead of connecting them, you play one for a few seconds, then stop playing, and then introduce another. This makes your piece seem long and disjointed.

You have great motives and themes in here, I just think it would be a benefit to work on some good voice leading connecting everything into one piece. At the moment it sort of sounds like "Here's an idea...okay now that idea's done...Here's another idea...okay that idea's done" and so on...


Don't be afraid to use cadences...they exist for a reason. lol!

I liked the melody of this one a lot, and the instrumentation is solid quality.

But this song is soooo screaming for some percussion. Like maracas and some ethnic hand drums or something.
