Maya 6: How do I apply a texture to a cube? (skybox situation)
Hi... I'm a dirty programmer... (not much of a 3d guy). I'm beating myself up trying to figure out how to assign a texture to the inside of a cube in Maya.
I've been through a few tutorials... I've made a temple... I've made a hammer... but I cannot find a tutorial that teaches how to assign a texture to a cube (or anything for that matter). Edit: I've found about a hundred texturing tutorials, but they are over my head.
I'd love to assign a .jpg or .bmp to the inside of a cube, export it as a mesh.
Then boom! I have a skybox in my game.
I have Maya 6.0 & Paintshop pro 7... and I have a nice image that I would like to use as my texture!
And yes, I do quite understand UV coordinates for texture mapping.
Thanks a ton for the help!

Its very simple, use the Maya UV editor.
Just texture the cube as you would normally outside. Then edit your UV to your liking. UV are the same for outside and inside.
