Two questions
Hi all. My first question is first is there any good gides for modleing and also for map makeing. I'v done a little map makeing in UT2004 and was wondering how to make my own static meshes and all that fun stuff. so if anyone could hook me up with a guide how to do either of thoes that would be great. My second question is just why hasnt there been a zelda mod made before. Is there some kinda legal asspect to why there hasnt been one made or is it because of some other reason? Thanks

As far as I know, they have never released an SDK for the engine, so I don't think anyone's ever tried.
For map making it depends what game your planning to map make for, check out the relevant planet site (like planetquake.com or planetunreal.com) for somewhere to start searching, search on google too for map making tutorials

K thanks I'll give that a try.
Mushu sry but I was unclear lol. I mean why hasnt anyone tryed makeing a zelda mod for another game like for example using UT2004 and using the 3rd person view as the normal view and maybe for like the a mount or something using the vehical featues. lol I probably was even more unclear there =(

search for "zelda outland".
The Legend of Zelda is difficult to modify because it comes from a time when games were heavily optimized for memory and speed. There are a lot of "hackish" aspects about the game.
He's talking about taking an engine/mod kit like you would find from Unreal and making a "Zelda game" (mod) with it.
Well for one, a decent designer doesn't share the view that "Zelda is the 1337", so we don't waste our time cloning other games including Zelda. Designers with respect for themselves try to make their own games, not someone else's.
