Any tutorials out there on composing music(like on how to train your ear to recognize certain notes, then turning the music in your head into notes), that preferably use a piano, or midi software?

However, don't start composing based on theory. You must practice. Use your ear. Just get a piece of software and start composing. At least, that's how I learned. Theory is just a tool to help you compose when you already know how to compose. Maybe you can just give it a read to know more or less what's it about. But don't compose based on chord maps.
