Looking for sources on African warfare.

A couple of days ago I saw a TV program on the Discovery Times channel that studied the Liberian civil war (the most recent one). I'm immensely interested in this type of warfare (I think it's called a "bush war"?) After Googling extensively and searching Amazon I found no sources dealing with what I was looking for. I'd appreciate it greatly if anyone could point me to any sources that explain in detail these "bush wars"; I'm more interested in the weapons and tactics used then the politics of these conflicts. Thank you for your time.
[insert obvious comment about 'bush war' and iraq here. ;) ]

Last time I checked the Middle East wasn't a part of Africa. Besides, the war in Iraq is not the kind I'm talking about. I'd like information along the lines of warfare between insurgents and government militias.
Okay Drewish, I think I've found some stuff you might be interested in, let me know if this works or not as I'll keep looking for ya. [smile]

That's all I could find at Amazon. I'll take a gander at B&N in a bit and see if anything else pops up. [smile]
Thanks a lot Acoustica, those are just the books I'm looking for. I'll pick up some books on generic guerilla warfare to fill in the gaps these books might leave. Again, thanks.

You bet. Always glad to be around to do book searches. I worked at B&N for three years and LOVE helping people find what they need, especially books. [grin]

If anyone else is interested in this topic I have found two great online sources on the subject.

The first one deals with starting up and running a guerilla army and the secondone is a comprehensive guide on psychological operations in guerilla warfare (it's all information that has been gathered from experience in Nicaragua). Enjoy.
