Hello devs- i've been working on this software for a couple weeks- any feedback is greatly appreciated. I hope this can aid the community in quickly and easily creating 3d content. A new, more usable version of OpenTeddy has been released You can see the tutorial for making a simple head at here The project home page is at here A linux version will be posted within a week. OpenTeddy can generate low-polygon meshes in Wavefront obj format, making it suitable for game developers. The speed at which one can create a complicated organic-looking mesh is impressive for the price of the software. OpenTeddy is an easy-to-use freeform sketch-based 3D modeler based on the paper by T. Igarashi et al, "Teddy: A Sketching Interface for 3D Freeform Design." Sketch-based modelers differ from traditional 3D CAD and design tools in that the user creates free-form strokes instead of having to explicitly choose points, edges and faces on a 3D mesh. Sketch-based modeling tools are intended also to be easy and accessible to novices who would normally be too intimidated to use traditional 3D modeling tools. phydeaux.
I'll add this software to the giant list of 3D packages that I manage on this forum.

Nice contribution.

Hey, this is a pretty cool idea! I was able to sketch a face is no time. The ability to "dimple" an object as easily as extruding it is pretty intriquing as a rendering concept.

This is the kind of stuff that gets me excited. I hope someday we can toss aside the whole faces/edges/vertices model and move to something a bit more intuitative. Then, 3D art will stop being a half-voodoo, half-artistic realm and become a lot more accessible to folks.
