I figured I would try to see if anyone might know the answer to this question, I got from my Digital Logic Class. What are the octal values of the four 8-bit bytes in the 32-bit number with octal representation 12345670123? I know how to convert from the various base values and all that...but this question just isn''t making any sense to me? Any ideas... -Tim
Write out all the binary bits, starting from the right-most, three bits per octal character. Now divide them into chunks of 8 bits each. Convert them back to octal. Hint - the first number in any three digit representation will never be larger than 3 (only two bits). This is my best guess at what your instructor is going for.
