games for crowds of people
Anyone knows about a game that is suitable to be played by 100 people in a crowd - with no joystick or internet - just the crowd - could movements or sound be used? And does anything like this exist? PLease tell me where to get it if you know! Thanks!
well, if you go to Seaworld Orlando and attend the Killer whale show with Shamu, the entire crowd is treated to a game of sorts while waiting for the show to begin.
Here's how it works ... there's a few cameras that do the whole focus in on random people thing just like at a sports stadium. When the showtime approaches, they start putting up some questions on the jumbo-tron deal and focus on one person. The screen shows the person, the question, and three answers, each with an icon of a hand holding 1,2 or 3 fingers. The person answers the question by holding their hand up.
Then, towards the end, they say that it's the adults vs the kids. First, a question for the kids ... they ask something like "is a killer whale black, or white", both answers are obviously right. Then the question for the adults, they'll do something like scroll an entire paragraph question way too fast to read, or ask us to describe some uber complex mathematical equation (which is actually a representation of the orca's sonar sound :-P) ... of course, the kids win that round.
All in all, it makes people laugh and kills time ... not sure if that's what you were looking for ... hope it helps.

mmm.. lean left to turn left, lean right to turn right, and some sort of voting algorithm and a camera watching the crowd. And then see how many fall over just as your snowboard is about to crash into a tree :)
