Tree, How can I improve this?
I modeled it first with the trunk, then made the branches, then I wrote an algorithm that generates leafs for me, and also lets me do some fun things with them in game, such as wind and some stuff. I'll try making they appear more clumpy and see how it looks.

Heres the product of my "Clumpifiation",

and two other images, from diffrent views.

3rd image
The changes that I made, where some subtle lighting, I redid the texture coords on the model, and I Made the leafs have Clumps instead of uniform application as with previous versions.
What do you think?

hmm...
all you really need to do to that thing is definatly reduce the amount of polygons, make a different set of laves.
unless someone is running a high end computer, they will not be able to process that
to update looks....
add more branches. fewer leaves. that is really all there is.

Ok here it is, the unvailing of my current work,

Changes: Revamped Model, changed Leaf geometry, modified texture, added a branch or two
Tell me what you think(Opinions, and/or Suggestions), I put a lot of work into this and I think Ive improved it quite a bit.

Um... you said you wanted a cell shaded or cartoonish look to it? Well to achive this you want to make the textures you are putting on them look more cartoonish and have less detail, and possibly put inking on the tree.

Not bad.. trees are actually hard to do within a low poly count
It doesnt look bad at all...
It doesnt really look cartoonish though.. but i dont think it would look to out of place in a cartoonish game anyway...
i would say is the lower your leaves are the less your player can see.. !
for something that will , i assume be instanced many times i wouldnt go overboard on it...organic cylindrical shapes are very hard to do low poly...
compared to other trees i have seen ingame it is good to go
Your tree has some texture stretching on it. if you add the uvmap to the cylinder i assume you started from before you modify it, you might avoid stretching..

Get a camera take a picture(s) of a tree you want in your game(or use google), and go home study the tree pictures, note the qualities that make that a good tree for your game, begin to model the tree with those qualities that you noted before.
Right now the tree look like almost everyones idea of the generic tree. What you should aim for is a specific tree.
